9.1 Creating Endorsed Profiles without prior Self-Assessments
Process for creating Endorsed Profiles from scratch
This is an this is an “exception to the rule” method and process, and entails creating an Endorsed Profile for people who have NOT completed Self-Assessment Surveys, and do NOT yet have a SkillsTX Login Planner Account with a Self-Assessed Profile.
Usually, the Endorsed Profile is based on interviews conducted by suitably SFIA qualified and skilled people of the individual or Employee.
While this method uses the standard Endorsement functionality, described in Managing Endorsement and Reports, the steps are different and as follows:
The Individual is set up in SkillsTX through the std Manage Users interface.
The Individual is (usually) interviewed (outside the scope of SkillsTX) by a suitably qualified SFIA Assessor, who would determine and document their SFIA skills based on the outcomes of the interviews.
(Note: Steps 1 & 2 are interchangeable)
Because the Individual has been uploaded into SkillsTX, there are a set of (optional) standard Admin tasks that can be addressed at this point:
They can be assigned to Team Leaders and Line managers via Manage Relationships.
Requirements (Jobs/Roles) can be assigned to them via Assign Requirements.
Endorsed Profiles are now able to be created and approved (based on the data captured during the interview/s) for the individual using standard Endorsement functionality. Who, when and how this is conducted will be dependent on how you have chosen to produce Endorsed Profiles. All the necessary Admin permissions will need to apply to the people carrying out the Endorsement functions. The following is an example of a standard process:
A suitably qualified person is assigned to create the individuals Endorsed Profile via Manage Endorsement and Reports.
You may choose to make use of the optional Assessor Name field to document who this is.
They select the Edit button for the Individual etc….
If a person has been assigned to a Job, then this may sometimes be used to assist with setting up the Endorsed Profile by selecting the job when in their Profile page.
Once the Endorsed Profile is created, then the Profile Status should be updated as required and depending on your processes.
Ultimately it will need to be set to Reviewed, but may go through a longer lifecycle of For Review first etc.
An Endorser is assigned via Manage Endorsement and Reports.
Note that once again depending on your processes this could have been done prior to (b.).
The Assigned Endorser selects the Approval icon via Manage Endorsement and Reports and sets the status of the the Individuals Endorsed Profile to Approved, once they are satisfied. (They may choose to edit/change it if needed first)
At this stage:
The Individuals SkillsTX Planner Account will be established by the system.
The individuals Planner Login credentials can be established by either:
Orchestrating a Password setup using the Forgot Password? link in your Login Page or asking them to do it themselves. Note: They will get a password reset email and will need to follow the std Password Reset process.
How this is managed will need to be be via your own internal processes.
If using Single-Sign-On (SSO) then they will automatically have access.
The individuals record under Assign Participants will be updated with Endorsed=TRUE.
Note: that the Assigned, Invited, Sent, Survey Started columns for that person will all = FALSE, and will not be updated, as they are all based on Self-Assessment Survey functionality, which in this case is superfluous.
The Endorsed Individuals will now have access to Log into their Planner Account:
From their they have the capability to copy their Endorsed Profile to their Self-Assessed Profile, which they will then be able to maintain as per Business-As-Usual.
