Certificate Mismatch (SSL) when using link in Email

Certificate Mismatch (SSL) when using link in Email

🔒 Problem

Certificate Mismatch or similar error when trying to use a link from a SkillsTX generated Email. Most often from the Password Reset Email, but could be others as well.

Example:

Often issues via a Cisco component
  • The error us usually due to very stringent security protocols that are in place for the organization to which the Email was directed at, and not actually an issue with SkillsTX SSL certificates.

 Solution

This is easily resolved by using Copy/Paste instead of using the link directly from the Email.

  1. Copy the link provided within the Email and Paste directly into a Browser window address bar

Note that Password Reset Emails usually provide the following 2 options for this reason:

i.e.

 To reset your password:

  • Copy the link below and Paste into a Browser address bar.

  • Or

  • Click directly on the link below. (If this fails due to internal security restrictions, we suggest you use the copy/paste option)

If you continue to have problems and the above solution does not work then you can register an Incident using our Service Desk interface: SkillsTx Service Desk
