Launching Add Action and Add Evidence directly from Gaps Indicators
When you hover over the and Skill gap indicators, in addition to an explanation of what the Indicator means, you will also get an option to Add Action to address the gap and, depending on the circumstances, an option to Add Evidence to support you skill/level selection without having to 1st navigate to your Action Plan or Evidence tabs.
Example:
These pop-up only appear for the Gap Indicators, not for the match Indicator. If you wish to add Evidence for a skill you already match, you will need to use your Evidence tab.
Add Action will always appear if there is one or more skill/level gaps for that skill.
Add Evidence will only appear if you have selected at least one of the indicated skill/level gaps with some level of Proficiency.
This includes during a Skill Edit. i.e. Having selected the skill/level gap with some level of Proficiency, re-hovering over the Gap Indicator (which previously only had Add Action), will include the option to Add Evidence.
Add Action
If you wish to immediately create an Action to address the gap/s, use the Add Action button, which will open an Add Action pop-up in the same way you would add an Action via your Action Plan tab e.g.
Proceed with adding the Action as per: https://skillstx.atlassian.net/wiki/x/gYDlgw
Add Evidence
If you wish to provide Evidence to support your Skill selection, using the Add Evidence button will open up an Add Evidence pop-up in the same way you would add Evidence via your Evidence tab e.g.

Key | Colour | Example | Description/Usage |
---|---|---|---|

Skill Gap indicators
Indicator | Description/Usage |
---|---|
None | Indicates a skill/level present in your profile that is not required in the Job profile |
| A Green Tick indicates a perfect skill/level match This indicates you do have the skill at the Level(s) needed for the role profile as a fully developed professional competency (Competent) |
| A Red Cross indicates a skill/level gap of a Required skill for the Job This indicates a skill Required by the role profile. However it is not included it in your selected profile type (e.g. Self Assessed) as Competent at the required level. Therefore your development action needs that you move from your current selection (e.g. Not Selected or Knowledge or Proficient) to Competent |
| A Red Cross with an accompanying Purple Wand indicates a missing skill/level gap of a Required skill for the job 🪄 This indicates that you have selected that skill but only at higher level/s, and the Job requires Competency for that skill at lower levels as well. A recommendation that you are most likely eligible to select the required lower skill levels as well. Note: It would be prudent read the skill descriptions at the lower levels to satisfy yourself you are also competent at those levels. Clicking on the Wand will issue a prompt asking if you wish to update your Profile with the missing lower skill levels for that skill. If you OK the recommendation, your Profile will be automatically updated with the missing levels and you have the std options to Save or Cancel the changes. Refer: 3.3.2 Using the Wizard Wand feature for automated Profile updates |
| An Orange circle indicates a skill/level gap for a Desirable skill for the Job This indicates that you are missing a Desirable skill for that role profile as Competent at the required level Therefore you may choose to have a development action that moves you from your current selection (e.g. Not Selected or Knowledge or Proficient) to Competent in order to improve your competency for the role, or possibly because as a Future role, you wish to improve your chances of selection. |
