4.5 Configure Skill Attributes
Attributes are able to be assigned to the standard SFIA Skills in order to allow organisations to add a further level of detail to them. SFIA skills are by default agnostic to any technology or other types of attributes, which is of course necessary to providing a framework that is suitable worldwide for all cultures and organisations. The Skills Attribute functionality provides a level of tailoring of the skills to include technology or other attributes at the individual Workspace level. Attributes can have URL Links associated with them.
If a person has selected the skill to which attributes have been configured, they are able to select the ones that apply to them from their Planner Console.
If a Job/Role definition contains the skill to which attributes have been configured, then the applicable attributes can be selected from the Job/Role definition editor
Attributes are available in specific Analytics pages
The Page shows the complete framework and any attributes that have been assigned to all skills
Configuring Attributes (manually) Step-by-step Guide
Select Edit on the Skill that you wish to add attributes to or change. Example:
To remove a current attribute
Use the Delete button
Note: You will NOT be able to Delete an Attribute if it has been selected by someone. (The delete button will not appear).
To add a new Attribute
Provide a name for the Attribute in the New Attribute field
Press the Add button to add the attribute
Note: After adding you can the include a Link or change the Is Hidden parameter (No/Yes)
Return to the list of Attributes using the Back ← button
The Is Hidden parameter is useful if you no longer wish people to assign that attribute to their skill selection and you are unable to delete it because it is still selected by someone.
Exporting Attributes Step-by- Step Guide
Select the
button
Use the resultant Dialogue to save the Excel Workbook on your own PC
You can use the spreadsheet to make changes or add additional attributes which can then be bulk uploaded
See below for an example.
Each row represents an attribute associated with a SkillCode.
So to have multiple attributes for a single SkillCode will require multiple entries for that SkillCode.
A URL link can be added to the Attribute. When this displays in a persons Planner, they will be able to select the link and it will open in a new browser window.
