5.2 Add Evidence
Add Evidence
To Add Evidence and associate it with a set of Attributes and/or Professional skills there mainly are 2 options available from the Manage Your Evidence panel.
A special 3rd option, is available only for Organizations that have requested assessment under a SFIA Foundation Scheme, and for digital credentials or badges to be issued. This can be made available to the Users by organizations who have had this functionality assigned in their system. Note: There are fees associated with this activity, and the functionality has to be made available by SkillsTX to the organization.
If your organization has made this available to you, and you wish to use the interface, then you can refer to: 5.4 Requesting Certification for one or more Skills
For managing standard evidence:
Firstly choose the Profile you wish to add the Evidence against using the Choose Profile Type drop-down
You then have a choice. You can either :
Select the + New Evidence Button in the panel header
You can select the + Button in the Add Evidence column associated with the Attribute/Skill for which you which to add the evidence e.g.
Either of the above will open up an Add Evidence form:
For step (a) none of the Generic Attributes (GAs) or Skills will be selected, you will need to select it/them from the list of relevant GAs and Skills presented.
For step (b), the associated Generic Attribute/Skill only will already be selected. If you wish to include others then you will need to select them.
If you choose to discontinue to add the evidence at any time you can use the - button at the top of the form, and the form will close
or use the Cancel Button at the end of the form
Complete the form
Provide a suitable Label for the evidence that will allow you to uniquely identify it from the Evidence List
Select the Type of Evidence it is from the drop-down list (Example only below):
Note: Evidence Lists are totally configurable by the Administrators of your SkillsTX instance, and the above may not be a true reflection of your Evidence lists.
Choose whether the Evidence is in the form of a file to be uploaded, a Link, or just a Description in the Notes panel
You can (Optionally) add an expiry date to the Evidence if that is applicable. Note: One consequence of an expiry date will be reminder notices when the evidence expires
Note: you can remove an expiry date after setting it using the X Button if needed
If the Evidence is Upload File then use the Choose File link to upload the file from your device, and follow the dialogue to select a file. Once the file has been selected and uploaded it will show the file name
If the Evidence is Specify Link then add the link URL
You have the optional ability to add Notes in the Notes panel for any Evidence.
If you selected Description in the Notes above, then it will not be optional and there is a requirement to add notes of 30chars or more. You will get a message to that effect once you start typing.:
You will need to add the Generic Attribute/s and/or Skill/s that you wish to have associated with the new evidence. If you initiated the Add Evidence directly from a skill panel then that skill will already be selected. You can add additional ones if they also apply to the new Evidence.
Once you have completed all the necessary information in the form, the Save Evidence Button will become Active
To Save the Evidence select the Save Evidence Button
The Evidence instance will be added to your Evidence List
To Cancel adding the Evidence you can use the Cancel Button

Notes:
An Evidence instance is designed to only hold a single uploaded file or link per evidence instance. If you wish to provide additional evidence for the same set of attributes/skills you will need to add additional instances.
This is one reason why it is important that you label your Evidence instance with a name that allows you to uniquely identify it in your list of evidence.
Files that could be considered as executable will NOT be able to be uploaded for security reasons.
If attempted a Warning message: For security this file type is not allowed will be presented.
