2023 September 25 - New Features/functionality


The following new Administrator managed features have been released. Both of these were features specifically requested by clients:

  1. The ability to generate Endorsed Skill Profiles for Employees without the need for a prior Self-Assessed Profile.

    • Why may you want to do this?

      • If you rely totally on Endorsed Profiles for your data set, and carry out interviews and generate Endorsed Profiles as an employee on-boarding process, rather than rely on self-assessment surveys, then this changed functionality is suited to that specific rigor.

  2. The ability to make local changes to the standard issued language translations.

    • Why may you want to do this?

      • Our standard language translations for the various Planner functionality, hover-overs, tool-tips etc are issued based on our best-efforts translations. If you wish to adapt those translations to better suit your organizational or colloquial situation, to improve understanding for your employees, then you are now able to adapt the issued translations as required.

      • Note: These translations do NOT refer to the SFIA framework Skill descriptions themselves, only the various Planner functionality such as Buttons, hover-overs tool-tips etc. (SFIA skill description Translations are issued by the SFIA Foundation, and adapting those could alter the implied meaning of the descriptions)


 Detailed Information

The ability to generate Endorsed Skill Profiles for Employees without the need for a prior Self-Assessed Profile:

  1. Add the Individuals via the standard Manager Users Functionality

  2. You will NOT need to assign the individuals via Assign Participants. However a record will be created for them in the table as a precursor to them being endorsed and included as a License.

  3. You WILL have the ability to:

    • Assign Jobs/Roles to those individuals using Assign Requirements

    • Include them in the Relationships structure using Manage Relationships

  4. Use the Manage Endorsements and Reports functionality (and your Endorsement processes) to Create Endorsed Profiles for the individuals, set Review status', assign Endorsers and approve Endorsed Profiles

  5. The Approval (Endorsement) of the Endorsed Profile will:

    • Automatically generate Planner Accounts for the individuals

    • Set the Status of the Endorsed field in their Assign Participants record = TRUE. This will in effect include them in the License count as a utilized license.

  6. Each individual will then have the ability to log into their Planner account:

    • If your organization utilizes Single-Sign-On (SSO) capability, then they should have access via SSO,

    • If not using SSO, then they will need to carry out a Password Reset from the Login page in order to set up their Planner account credentials.

  7. From their Planner Profile page, each individual will have the ability to copy their Endorsed profile to generate a Self-Assessed profile, which they can then adapt and manage themselves.

The ability to make local changes to the standard issued language translations:

  1. Use Manage Page Labels

  2. 2 new buttons are available Export All Translations and Import All Translations

  3. After selecting your required language use the Export All Translations to produce an Excel Workbook of the current Translations

  4. Make changes to the language translations as required and save an Import version of the workbook

  5. Use the Import All Translations to import the changes
