Sign In with Microsoft Fails

Problem

Using the Sign in with Microsoft option fails with Need admin approval and permissions to access resources in your organization messages.

Solution

There may be a few reasons for this:

  1. The Sign in with Microsoft button was used by mistake. To overcome this:

    1. Provide your email address and password and then use the standard Sign In button.

  2. If you usually use the Sign in with Microsoft, then:

    1. Ensure you are using the exact same Email Address that was used to setup your SkillsTx access. (aliases will not work).

    2. If the Email address is correct, there has possibly been a change to the Active Directory (AD) permissions by your organisation to prevent access.

    3. To regain the use of the Microsoft Sign in you will need to ask your organisations systems Administrators to grant access for external applications in their Azure AD settings.

  3. You have never used the Sign in with Microsoft before but wish to use it. (Note you will need to have a Microsoft sign in capability already for your internal applications).

    1. Ensure the Microsoft sign-in Email address is exactly the same as your SkillsTx access Email address.

    2. Some organisational security policies will not allow Microsoft Sign-In, so this option may not be available for you.

    3. You may need to submit a request to your organisations systems Administrators to grant access for external applications in their Azure AD settings.

Note:

  • If you have forgotten your password use the Forgot Password? option to reset your password
