Email Textual-Substitution-Values
The following fields are utilised in the surveys and emails in order to include specific variable values into the text. They need to be prefixed and suffixed by the $ sign for the textual substitution to take place. They are listed here in order for the facilitator to better understand the format of the portal Email templates, as well as to use and manipulate them when editing the Email templates for their own requirements.
The list below is specific to SkillsTX original platform, and may not apply to the Latest SkillsTX platform and User Interface (UI). $cartridge_name$ | The name of the assessment cartridge e.g. SFIA v7 |
$company_name$ | The name of the Organisation being assessed |
$country$ | Person Record Field: Country |
$country_code$ | Person Record Field: Country Code |
$cost_centre$ | Person Record Field: Cost Centre |
$department$ | Person Record Field: Department |
$division$ | Person Record Field: Division |

$entity_name$ | The name of the Department or Area within the Organisation for which the Assessment workspace has been created |
$facilitator_company$ | Company name of the person administering (Facilitating) the assessments (e.g. a SkillsTX VAR) |
$facilitator_email$ | Email address of the person administering (Facilitating) the assessments |
$facilitator_name$ | Name of the person administering (Facilitating) the assessments |
$first_name$ | Person Record Field: First Name |
$full_name$ | The full name of the person (Combination of First Name + Last Name) |
$last_name$ | Person Record Field: Last (Surname) Name |
$link$ | The survey link always present in the survey Emails. It is generated as a unique encrypted link for each survey participant. (Should NEVER be deleted from Survey emails, or copy & pasted to any other media format). |

$participant_salutation$ | Person Record Field: Preferred - The Preferred Name (Salutation) of the person being sent the Email. Note: Often set to the same as their First Name. Could be a nickname or could have "Dr John" etc. Appears after the "Dear"….. in the Email |

$survey_completion_date$ | The date held in the Target Survey Completion field set as part of the Assessment workspace setup. This is often changed during the life of an assessment. |
$survey_message$ | The Survey message as defined in the survey details. This is the message that can be setup during the Assessment Configuration and can be changed during the life of an assessment. |
$team$ | Person Record Field: Team |
$validation_date$ | Person Record Field: Validation Date. Note: only the Date is returned not the time |
